Since the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster of March 11, 2011, the Belgian Embassy in Tokyo has been providing ongoing support to the Tohoku region, with initiatives including teaming up with Save the Children to help with recovery and rebuilding work in Higashi Matsushima. As we approach the fourth anniversary of the triple disasters, APRICOT is excited to say that going forward the embassy has chosen to help us in our long-term mission to support the children and their families in Tohoku who have been affected by the horrific events of and following 3/11.
On March 8th, Ambassador Liebaut and his team at the embassy will be running a charity market at the embassy (Marché de l’APRICOT: pour les enfants du Tohoku) to raise funds for APRICOT. With ample opportunities to sample Belgian chocolates, beer and other delicacies, not to mention a lottery full of great prizes, an auction, face-painting, and a selection of stalls selling art, crafts and other goods, it looks all set to be a great day.
Full details of the event are in this flyer.
We hope you will be able to pop by and join us!
